My mom’s Recipe: Beef Stew with Sweet Pea, Carrots and Potatoes


Another special recipe from my mom’s kitchen. Back home, my mom and my grandmother used to cook so many beef / chicken stews. This recipe reminds me home and all these special moments that i used to share with my family!

Cooking Time: 30 mins

Level: Medium – Serves  4 person


  • 200 gr of beef / cut into small cubes ( 1 cm chunks)
  • 500 gr of frozen sweet pea
  • 3 small potatoes
  • 1 medium onion / chopped
  • 1 medium carrots /  cut into small cubes
  • 2 table spoon of tomato paste
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 1.5 cups of water
  • 2 tablespoon of olive oil
  • Salt & Pepper

Take a deep pot, add beef and a 3 table spoon of water. Turn the to medium and stir the beef until it changes its colour.

Then add onions, garlic and carrots, stir them with the beef over medium heat and cook for 2-3 mins.

Add water, tomato paste, olive oil, potatoes and sweet pea into the pot. If you need more water add little bit more and lower the heat. Continue cooking until the beef and carrots are tender – about 25 mins ( sweet pea and potatoes will cook very easily).

Serve this dish hot and we love to eat it with greek yogurt 🙂
