Lemon Drizzle Cake


We found this recipe thanks to one of our instagram followers 🙂

The original recipe can be found here, however we changed it little bit:)  This is an easy and fluffy lemon cake recipe for a great tea time!

Next time we will also try to bake a some lemon pies too!

  • 225 gr melted butter
  • 300 gr flour
  • 1 lemon zest
  • 15gr of baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 250 gr granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/4 cups of milk

For the topping:

  • 1 lemon juice
  • 50 gr powdered sugar


Cooking Time:  30- 45 min

Level: Easy

Preheat to oven to 180 C.

Start whisking flour, lemon zests, baking powder and salt together.

In another bowl, beat the eggs and the melted butter. Then add slowly each egg a time and finish beating by adding the milk.  Add this mixture in a baking pan. If you pan is not silicone, then butter the surface and bake the cake for 30- 45 mins. When i bake i always use the fan option of our oven.

Once the cake is baked, put it aside to cool down. Take a little bowl, whisk lemon juice and powdered sugar. Pour this mixture on the cooled cake. I love lemon cake when it is little bit juice on the top. Thats why we add the lemon juice at the end 🙂 If you need, you can add a lemon icing too.. This cake is not a very sweet cake. If you want a very sweet cake then please check the website and follow the sugar quantities 🙂
