Today is the second day of the Sugar Feast (Şeker Bayramı) and I am happy to spend this time with my sisters and family.

During this feast, as tradition, people visit their friends & family and in every house people offer you lots of things to taste and especially desserts.. And as I am in İstanbul for holidays, I am enjoying this special moments with my family!

Yesterday, I went to visit  my sister and she served us a very delicious and easy Peach crumble and I would like to share it with you. The original recipe is from Smitten Kitchen but she changed it little bit and I think its better like that. So, let’s start with ingredients.

Peach Crumble Ingredients:

Cooking Time: 30 + 10 min for preparations

Level: Easy – for 4 person

  • 4 middle size peach
  • 1 cup of raw pecans ( you can add also almonds)
  • 105 grams of all-purpose flour
  • 70 grams of powdered sugar
  • A pinch of salt
  • 70 grams of baking powder ( half pocket of a baking powder)
  • 180 ml melted butter (3/4 cups of butter)
  • pinch of powdered cinnamon ( add according to your taste)

You can cook this dessert in a big ovenproof baking dish or in a souflé bowl that we did it with my sister 🙂

First, peel your peaches and cut them as you want. We cut them in to big cubes but feel free to cut as your own preference.

The Next step is to grin your pecans or almonds as they become like powder. And then take your food processor and mix pecans, flour, powdered sugar, salt and baking powder. Mix them until they become like powder. Once you finish add melted butter and mix it with a spoon and to finish add powdered cinnamon to your mixture.

In the final step, take your ovenproof baking dish or anything that you would like to use and place your peach on the bottom of your bowl ( if you want, put little bit of sugar on the top of the peach) and cover the peach with your mixture.

Once you are done, heat your oven to 200 C and cook your dessert until the topping becomes brown ( It’s hard to say how many minutes does it take 🙂 just keep your eye on them!

You may serve this dessert with a vanilla ice cream, its so delicious!

Bon Appetit!
